Founded by brothers Paul, Mark, and Donnie Wahlberg, Wahlburgers is a casual dining burger chain that began in 2011. With over 90 locations across the U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, the brand has expanded its reach globally.
In 2014, the television series Wahlburgers debuted on A&E, airing for 10 seasons and even earning an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program.
Beyond the restaurants, Wahlburgers sells a variety of products, including burger patties, pickles, bacon, sauces, and cheese in grocery stores. If you’ve purchased their pickles, you may be eligible for compensation through a class action settlement.
Wahlburgers Pickles Class Action Settlement
The lawsuit alleges that the packaging for Wahlburgers Pickles included misleading claims such as:
- “Fresh”
- “All-natural”
- “No preservatives”
These labels were deemed deceptive, as the products contained sodium benzoate, a preservative commonly used to extend the shelf life of processed foods and beverages.
Although Wahlburgers denies any wrongdoing, they have agreed to a $2 million settlement.
How to Qualify for the Class Action
You may qualify for compensation if you purchased any of the following Wahlburgers pickles:
- Fresh Dill Spears
- Fresh Dill Chips
- Fresh Dill Chips Hot
These purchases must have been made between April 1, 2021, and March 31, 2023.
To file a claim, visit the official settlement website before the July 29, 2024, deadline. The final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for September 4, 2024. If you submit a valid claim, you can expect to receive your payment by winter or later.
How Much Can You Receive from the Settlement?
If you purchased the specified pickles, you can submit a claim to receive $2 per product without needing proof of purchase. You can claim up to six products for a maximum of $12 without receipts.
However, if you have receipts for your purchases, you can claim reimbursement for an unlimited number of products.
